accepting, connecting and transforming small groups of people which we
call "Cube Groups"; we are not simply a Church with Small Groups but

Understanding The Cube Groups of NorthWinds Church
The Foundation: (Acts 2: 42-47)
NorthWinds’
very beginning was in the small group setting. We continue to be
families that gather together seeking what God would have them to do
for each other, each family, their church and their community. The
focus of this group was and is, to discover the fullness of Christ
through the six (6) expressions of faith that was discovered in Acts 2:
42-46. They came together to Worship, Pray, Serve, Fellowship, Learn and Give to Jesus, each other, the church and the community.
The vision of our Church came out of this small group setting:
"NorthWinds Church provides an opportunity for all people to be
Accepted, Connected and Transformed through the Truth of Jesus Christ."
The name "Cube Group" came out of this same environment as we began to
see that we were all developing as a "group" in the very points of the
vision; to become accepting individuals called to help each other and
those who may come after us to connect to Christ’s Truth and to
create an environment in and through which Jesus could change
(transform) us into what He desires us to be.
Likewise, as a church, we see and have experienced that the best
involvement, care and support can come from the family inspired
environment of the small group. You see, it takes involvement, care and
support of each other for each of us to grow in Christ.
The Vision for Cube Groups:
The vision of our
Cube Groups is no different nor carries less emphasis than the vision
of our Church at large. The focus and intent of our Groups is to carry
out the vision God has given NorthWinds Church, "to provide an opportunity for all people to be Accepted, Connected and Transformed through the Truth of Jesus Christ".
Everything that is done within, through, or by our Cube Groups is measured through the vision.
The Intent of Cube Groups:
Our Cube Groups are places
(small communities if you will) where the six (6) expressions of our
faith (see "The Foundation" section above) are exercised and expressed
in a safe, intimate, loving and caring environment. Likewise, these
Groups are set aside to provide individual and family care as well as
being a place of support where we, together, seek and celebrate Jesus
in our lives.
The Assurance of the Cube Group:
The Cube Groups of NorthWinds
Church are places where you will find a safe haven. This issue of
safety goes well beyond your physical being into your emotional and
spiritual health as well.
Following is the assurance we offer to each Cube Group and its
participants as well as some of the qualities of their respective
leaders:
- You will
find a place of genuine commitment by enthusiastic people. We live in a
world that is starved for meaningful relationships. People live across
the street from each other for years and never know each other’s
names. Co-workers are just a voice on a telephone line; aunts, uncles
and cousins are just names on a Christmas list. People need commitment
and a sense of community.
- You will find an attitude of servant-hood. The focus is on the needs of the group not the individual leader.
- You
will find a willingness to invest in you outside the Faith Family. You
should see and experience the truth of the words, "I care about you".
- The
Cube Groups are committed to consistently communicating love and
appreciation to the group as a whole and to each member individually.
In this you will find a conscience effort to include everyone in group
activities.
- We do
not believe that you can be forced into participation but rather our
Cube Groups will encourage you to connect to the Body of Christ so that
you can experience the fullness Christ Himself desires for you.
- You
will find that the Cube Groups are a place of humor, "love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self-control". (Galatians 5: 22-26)
- You
will find that our Cube Groups are a place where you can be heard in
the truest sense of what you are saying. We will not only hear what you
are saying verbally but will help you discover the "Why" and "What"
that one truly meant within our spoken words.
- You
will find that our Cube Groups will be a place for developing your
individual theology and life practices through Biblically based
discussions and teachings. With this you will find these groups to be
places of confidentiality, intimacy, transparency, sensitivity and
encouragement. We all struggle and we all taste success, no one
person’s experience being above or below another. All areas will
be held in the strictest of confidence within the group and cannot be
shared outside the group.
- The Cube Groups will begin their group meetings on time and will end on time.
- NorthWinds
Cube Groups will be faithful to their commitment to Jesus Christ, the
Church, You and the Community. With this they are committed to Unity
and will not countenance any form, action, word or deed which creates
an environment of disunity.
